Product Overview:
422nm, 100mW Violet Laser Source System Overview
These laser sources employ Coherent's standard-setting laser diode technology to deliver industry-best laser reliability and performance. The violet-output 422nm free-space source system is available at 100mW, user-adjustable output power. The 375nm LX-model laser head is available at 16mW; inquire for details.
The OBIS Series laser source systems span the wavelength spectrum from 375nm (Ultraviolet) to 980nm (near-Infrared), and are perfect for scientific, flow cytometry, and fluorescence spectroscopy applications.
OBIS LX/LS lasers deliver low-noise laser light with high beam quality. The complete plug-and-play system is easily and quickly integrated in a wide range of applications. The result is reduced set-up time and time-to-market in OEM applications, and reduced overall deployment cost. The highly-functional OBIS LS/LX Systems are ideal for scientific, laboratory, and spectroscopic applications.
Complete Turn-Key Violet Laser Source System
The complete OBIS system includes: the laser head and power supply, remote controller, and the interconnect cables. The laser system is operated remotely via USB or RS232, and the PC control software is included.
The OBIS system architecture ensures high reliability over a long service life, and safety features help protect the laser operator. The front-panel key switch prevents unauthorized use, and the external interlock allows a remote safety switch or jumper to be wired. The OBIS remote controller is computer-controlled, and includes a Laser Ready indicator, Laser On indicator, and a front panel Fault indicator. Output is provided for a cooling fan, and for temperature stabilization the OBIS laser head can be mounted to the OBIS fan-heatsink.
Operating Flexibility with Multiple Modulation Modes
The OBIS laser system can be operated in CW mode, or modulated in multiple modes: analog signals, digital signals, and combined analog/digital signals. The laser can be modulated to full-off output, ensuring no photons are emitted. LS modules can be modulated to full-off output using the digital modulation mode. The LX modules can be modulated to full-off using the analog modulation mode with a Blanking Enabled feature.
Laser System Options and Availability
The turn-key OBIS laser sources are available in a wide range of wavelengths and output powers, either fiber-coupled or with a free-space output, and multiple sources can be simultaneously operated from a single computer. When application requirements change, laser heads of different wavelengths are effortlessly interchanged on the bench.
A number of bandpass filters are available for the free-space laser heads, and are useful in applications that benefit from reduced noise at longer wavelengths. Filters are available at 445nm, 473nm, 488nm, 633nm, and 640nm, and attach directly to the front of the laser head.
A range of multi-laser accessories are available: two different six-laser controllers for OEM and benchtop applications, a machined heatsink with integrated cooling fan, and all-in-one mounting and control system that incorporates independent laser controllers, modulation inputs, and thermal management for up to five OBIS laser heads.
