561nm, 120mW Yellow Laser Source System Overview

Coherent has developed industry-leading semiconductor-based yellow laser technology to deliver outstanding beam quality and output stability, and providing the industry-best laser reliability and performance, all in a super-compact plug-and-play system. The OBIS Series laser source systems cover the wavelength spectrum from 375nm (Ultraviolet) to 980nm (near-Infrared).

OBIS LX/LS lasers deliver high optical power with low noise and high beam quality. The plug-and-play system allows users to rapidly integrate the laser system into established or newly-developed applications. Set-up time is reduced, as well as time-to-market in OEM applications, providing an over-all cost reduction to the program. The highly versatile OBIS LS/LX Systems are ideal for scientific, laboratory, and spectroscopic applications.

Multiple Power Output Level Options

The 561nm OBIS Laser Source System can be an effective solution for 560nm laser applications, as well as other yellow-output laser systems. The 561nm OBIS laser systems are available at the following output power levels: 40mW, 60mW, 80mW, and 120mW. Specifications for the other output powers are similar; inquire for details.

Operating Flexibility with Multiple Modulation Modes

The OBIS laser system can be operated in CW mode, or modulated in multiple modes: analog signals, digital signals, and combined analog/digital signals. The laser can be modulated to full-off output, ensuring no photons are emitted. LS modules can be modulated to full-off output using the digital modulation mode.

Complete Turn-Key Yellow Laser System

The OBIS LS system includes: the laser head and remote controller, power supply, all the cables, and the output fiber with FC/APC termination. The laser system is controlled remotely via USB or RS232, and the PC control software is included.

The OBIS system includes safety and performance features to ensure a long service lifetime, and to help protect the user while operating the laser. The interlock connection allows a safety switch to be wired, and the key switch prevents unauthorized use. The OBIS controller includes a front panel Fault indicator, and a Laser Ready and Laser On indicator. Accommodation is included for driving a cooling fan, and the OBIS laser head can be attached to the OBIS fan-heatsink for temperature stabilization.

Laser Heads and System Accessories Available Separately

The turn-key OBIS laser sources are available in a variety of wavelengths, with fiber-coupled or free-space output. Multiple sources can be simultaneously operated from a single computer, and when application requirements change, different wavelength laser heads are easily interchanged.

A range of multi-laser accessories are available: two different six-laser controller models, a precision machined heatsink with attached cooling fan, and a completely integrated five-laser mounting system that incorporates laser controllers, modulation inputs, and thermal management.
