Product Overview:

637nm, 170mW Single Mode Laser Diode

This 637nm orange red laser diode features 170mW of output power in a TO-18 package. These devices are supplied by CivilLaser and are manufactured by Hitachi. The HL63133DG devices are AlGaInP laser diodes with a multi-quantum well structure making them ideal for miniature laser displays, laser modules, and optical measurement equipment. Parameters for these laser diodes include a working current of 250-350mA, a threshold current of 60mA, and a working voltage of 2.8-3.2V. Working lifetime is greater that 10,000 hours.

Proper Handling and Operation of Laser Diodes:
Laser diodes are highly susceptible to damage from ESD and from temperatures exceeding their specified safe operating range. The user is advised to use care and proper ESD safety practices when handling them to avoid damage to the laser. A properly rated low noise current source, a low thermal resistance mount and a temperature controller should be used for optimal device performance and reliability.
