These 940nm multimode, multi-emitter pump laser diode modules from Lumentum are offered in a fiber coupled, high reliability ST package.

Continuous Design Evolution Delivers A Highly Reliable Device

The ST-Series fiber-coupled laser diodes leverage the technology developed in the L4 laser module packages, and include 1060nm feedback protection. The ST devices are cost effective laser sources for the multi-mode pump market. Common applications include fiber laser pumping, materials processing, and graphic arts.

Thermal Protection for Lumentum ST-Packaged High Power Pumps
Laser devices will degrade rapidly if excess heat is not properly dissipated and if the laser is not maintained at a safe operating temperature. To avoid such device degredation, the case temperature should be actively controlled and kept in a safe operating temperature window. A proper heat sink for the laser package will greatly enhance the life of the laser, and allow for more stable operation in every-day conditions.

Laser Lab Source offers a pre-configured heat sink and temperature controller which has been optimized for the ST package. It comes pre-drilled with the correct mounting hole placement and has a TEC based cooling plate with a small fan to remove the waste heat. In addition to the mount, the current source and TEC controller unit which is compatible with the 140W laser is also available.
