These high power multi-mode direct diode lasers from Lumentum, formerly JDSU, are air cooled laser systems which combine high reliability L4 single emitter diode lasers with a fused fiber individual emitter architecture. Providing up to 180 watts of multi-mode laser output, these 940nm direct diode products are ideally suited for plastics welding, selective soldering, and heat treating,handling a greater diversity of materials and reducing costs while increasing throughput in existing operations. Unlike bar based diode laser products, IDL series fused fiber individual emitter architecture provides thermal isolation between emitters, leading to higher reliability.
