445nm, 365mW Blue Laser Source System Overview
The Coherent OBIS laser sources utilize proprietary Optically Pumped Semiconductor Laser (OPSL) technology to deliver industry-leading laser reliability and performance. The blue 445nm free-space source system is available at 75mW and 365mW output power.
The OBIS Series laser source systems are available across the wavelength spectrum from 375nm (Ultraviolet) to 980nm (near-Infrared), and are perfect for flow cytometry and fluorescence spectroscopy applications.
OBIS LX/LS lasers deliver high-stability, low-noise laser light, with high beam quality. The plug-and-play system is all-inclusive, and users are able to rapidly integrate the laser. The result is reduced set-up time and time-to-market in OEM applications, and reduced cost. The highly-functional OBIS LS/LX Systems are ideal for scientific, laboratory, and spectroscopic applications.
Complete Turn-Key Blue Laser Source System
The complete OBIS system includes: the laser head and power supply, remote controller, the interconnect cables, and the output fiber with FC/APC termination. The laser system is operated remotely via USB or RS232, and the PC control software is included.
This video above summarizes the setup process, including mounting the laser head on the optional heatsink. Control inputs are located on the laser head for OEM applications where the laser head is directly controlled with custom software.
The OBIS system includes features to ensure a long operating lifetime, and to help protect the laser operator. The key switch prevents unauthorized use, and an external interlock connection is included for added safety. The OBIS controller is computer-controlled, and includes convenient front-panel indicators: a Laser Ready indicator, Laser On indicator, and a Fault indicator. An output is provided for driving a cooling fan, and for temperature stabilization the OBIS laser head can be mounted to the OBIS fan-heatsink.
Operating Flexibility with Multiple Modulation Modes
The OBIS laser system can be operated in CW mode, or modulated in multiple modes: analog signals, digital signals, and combined analog/digital signals. The laser can be modulated to full-off output, ensuring no photons are emitted. LS modules can be modulated to full-off output using the digital modulation mode. The LX modules can be modulated to full-off using the analog modulation mode with a Blanking Enabled feature.

Laser System Options and Availability
The turn-key OBIS laser sources are available in a wide range of wavelengths and output powers, either fiber-coupled or with a free-space output, and multiple sources can be simultaneously operated from a single computer. When application requirements change, laser heads of different wavelengths are effortlessly interchanged on the bench.
A number of bandpass filters are available for the free-space laser heads, and are useful in applications that benefit from reduced noise at longer wavelengths. Filters are available at 445nm, 473nm, 488nm, 633nm, and 640nm, and attach directly to the front of the laser head.
A range of accessories are available for driving multi-laser systems: two six-laser controller models for OEM and benchtop applications, a machined heatsink with attached cooling fan, and an integrated mounting and control system that incorporates independent laser controllers, modulation inputs, and thermal management for up to five OBIS laser heads.
