Product Overview:

514nm, 150mW Green Laser Source System Overview

This turn-key laser source employs Coherent's Optically Pumped Semiconductor Laser (OPSL) technology to deliver industry-best laser reliability and performance.

The OBIS Series laser source systems are available across the wavelength spectrum from 375nm (Ultraviolet) to 980nm (near-Infrared), and are well suited for fluorescence spectroscopy and flow cytometry applications.

OBIS LX/LS lasers deliver high optical power with low noise, and a high quality, small diameter circular beam. The turn-key system is flexible, and users are able to rapidly integrate the laser into a wide variety of applications. The fast set-up time reduces overall cost. The highly-functional OBIS LS/LX Systems are ideal for scientific, laboratory, and spectroscopic applications.

Operating Flexibility with Multiple Modulation Modes

The OBIS laser system can be operated in CW mode, or modulated in multiple modes: analog signals, digital signals, and combined analog/digital signals. The laser can be modulated to full-off output, ensuring no photons are emitted. LS modules can be modulated to full-off output using the digital modulation mode.

Complete Turn-Key Green Laser Source System

The complete OBIS system includes: the laser head and power supply, remote controller, and the interconnect cables. The laser system is operated remotely via USB or RS232, and the PC control software is included.

The OBIS system includes features to ensure a long operating lifetime, and to help protect the laser operator. The key switch prevents unauthorized use, and the external interlock allows a remote safety switch to be wired. The OBIS remote controller includes a Laser Ready and Laser On indicator, as well as a front panel Fault indicator. Accommodation is provided for driving a cooling fan, and for temperature stabilization the OBIS laser head can be mounted to the OBIS fan-heatsink.

Laser System Options and Availability

The turn-key OBIS laser sources are available in a wide range of wavelengths and output powers, either fiber-coupled or with a free-space output, and multiple sources can be simultaneously operated from a single computer. When application requirements change, laser heads of different wavelengths are speedily exchanged on the bench.

A number of bandpass filters are available for the free-space laser heads, and are useful in applications that benefit from reduced noise at longer wavelengths. Filters are available at 445nm, 473nm, 488nm, 633nm, and 640nm, and attach directly to the front of the laser head.

A range of multi-laser accessories are available: two six-laser controller models for OEM and benchtop applications, a machined heatsink with attached cooling fan, and an integrated mounting and control system that incorporates independent laser controllers, modulation inputs, and thermal management for up to five OBIS laser heads.
