Key features: They offer very high spectral purity and a narrow linewidth. They also offer excellent reliability and are available in a wide selection of packaging options, including TO5.6 header with or without cap, TO5 header with or without cap, and butterfly housing with SM or PM fiber.

Application areas: These 760nm diode lasers are used in a wide variety of sensing applications that require measurement and monitoring of gas molecules which have absorption lines in the near IR. There is a strong absorption line for oxygen at 760nm, and these single-mode lasers are commonly used for O2 sensing. These DFBs are used in other gas sensing and precision metrology applications. They are used in atomic clocks and for general spectroscopy, emerging space technology, and other applications which require a narrow linewidth and high spectral performance.

These lasers are specified with a peak wavelength of 760nm, plus or minus 1nm. They have a typical threshold current of 30 mA and offer a typical slope efficiency of 0.5 mW per mA. The temperature tuning is specified at 0.04 nm/degree Kelvin. The current tuning coefficient referenced on the data sheet is 0.020 nm per mA of drive current. Key spectral specs include a slow axis of 35 degrees and a fast axis of 60 degrees, both at FWHM. They offer an emitting area of 1.5 x 2 µm.
